In a simple ceremony held today at Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador of India to Vietnam H.E. Pranay Verma formally handed over to the Vice Foreign Minister of Vietnam H.E. Nguyen Quoc Dzung, the relief supplies gifted by the Government of India for the victims of flood and landslides that recently inflicted many provinces of central Vietnam. The relief material is being provided by the National Disaster Management Authority of India to Vietnam’s Central Steering Committee for National Disaster Prevention and Control. The Indian Navy Ship INS Kiltan recently brought these supplies to Vietnam.
The Vice Foreign Minister of Vietnam thanked the people and the Government of India for this warm gesture and recalled Prime Minister Phuc thanking Prime Minister Modi during their Virtual Summit last month for India’s assistance to Vietnam to recover from the devastating floods in the Central Provinces.
The relief supplies are symbolic of warm and friendly ties between India and Vietnam and in line with the long tradition of the two countries standing for each other in times of adversity. In 2020, to support the common fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government and the people of Vietnam had gifted facemasks to the Indian Red Cross Society.
During the exchange held today, the Vice Foreign Minister of Vietnam affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will work closely with the Embassy of India to implement the Joint Vision on Peace, Prosperity and People adopted by the leaders during the Virtual Summit on 21 December 2020 to further strengthen India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Both sides will collaborate in wide-ranging areas in 2021 covering sectors such as defence and security, trade and investment, digital economy, new technologies, renewable energy, civil nuclear cooperation, space, capacity building, cultural heritage conservation, water resource management and development partnership.

Trong một buổi lễ giản dị được tổ chức ngày hôm nay tại Bộ Ngoại giao Việt Nam, Đại sứ Ấn Độ tại Việt Nam Ngài Pranay Verma chính thức trao cho Thứ trưởng Ngoại giao Việt Nam Ngài Nguyễn Quốc Dũng số hàng cứu trợ do Chính phủ Ấn Độ tặng cho các nạn nhân của trận lũ lụt và sạt lở đất vừa xảy ra ở nhiều tỉnh miền Trung Việt Nam. Cơ quan quản lý thiên tai quốc gia Ấn Độ trao số hàng cứu trợ này cho Ban chỉ đạo trung ương về phòng chống thiên tai của Việt Nam. Tàu INS Kiltan của Hải quân Ấn Độ đã cập cảng mang theo số hang cứu trợ này tới Việt Nam.
Thứ trưởng Ngoại giao Việt Nam cảm ơn người dân và Chính phủ Ấn Độ về tình cảm nồng ấm này và nhắc lại Thủ tướng Phúc đã cảm ơn Thủ tướng Modi trong Hội nghị thượng đỉnh trực tuyến tháng trước vì hỗ trợ mà Ấn Độ đã cấp cho Việt Nam trong khắc phục hậu quả lũ lụt kinh hoàng ở các tỉnh miền Trung.
Hàng cứu trợ là biểu tượng cho mối quan hệ thân tình, nồng ấm giữa Ấn Độ và Việt Nam, phù hợp với truyền thống lâu đời của hai nước khi luôn ủng hộ nhau trong gian khó. Trong năm 2020, để ủng hộ cuộc chiến chung chống đại dịch COVID-19, Chính phủ và nhân dân Việt Nam đã tặng cho Hiệp hội Chữ thập đỏ Ấn Độ số lượng khẩu trang lớn.
Trong cuộc trao đổi hôm nay, Thứ trưởng Ngoại giao Việt Nam khẳng định Bộ Ngoại giao sẽ phối hợp chặt chẽ với Đại sứ quán Ấn Độ để triển khai Tầm nhìn chung về Hòa bình, Thịnh vượng và Con người đã được các nhà lãnh đạo thông qua trong Hội nghị cấp cao trực tuyến vào ngày 21 tháng 12 năm 2020 để tăng cường hơn nữa quan hệ Đối tác Chiến lược Toàn diện Ấn Độ-Việt Nam. Hai bên sẽ hợp tác trên nhiều lĩnh vực vào năm 2021 bao gồm các lĩnh vực như quốc phòng và an ninh, thương mại và đầu tư, kinh tế kỹ thuật số, công nghệ mới, năng lượng tái tạo, hợp tác hạt nhân dân dụng, vũ trụ, nâng cao năng lực, bảo tồn di sản văn hóa, quản lý và phát triển nguồn nước cũng như đối tác phát triển.
