Development Projects in Viet Nam with Indian cooperation
Economic development cooperation was an important element of India-Viet Nam Collaboration from 1970s onwards including government-supported training, educational scholarships, food supply, provision of equipment and credits for concessional financing for various projects in Viet Nam. Some of the concessional financing projects extended by India are listed below:

	100	1989	Supply of telecom equipment	Hanoi	Telecom equipment was supplied to Vietnam National Post & Telecommunication which is under the Government of Vietnam. VNPT is currently one of the leading telecom operators in Vietnam.
		1989	Supply of railway equipment	Hanoi	Railway equipment including rolling stocks were supplied to Vietnam Railways which is the state-owned operator of the railway system in Vietnam.
		1989	Tea processing	Phu Tho	Machinery required for tea processing was supplied under the credit to M/s Vinh Phu Tea Company in developing tea processing in Vietnam.
		1989	Research Institute in Science and Technology	Hanoi	Credit was extended for supply of equipment to the National Center for Technological Progress (NACENTECH) under the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam. The Center is now among leading research institution in Vietnam in science and technology located in Hanoi.
		1989	Tea processing	Nghe An	Machinery required for tea processing was supplied under the credit to M/s Nghe An Tea Company Limited in tea processing and the company has become a Joint Stock Company.
	100	1990	Leather sector	Hanoi	Machinery was supplied to M/s Thuy Khue Shoe Company in leather processing and shoe making. The company has become one of the shoe exporters in Vietnam.
		1990	Tea processing	Son La	Machinery required for tea processing was supplied to M/s Son La Tea Company under the credit. It has become M/s Son La Tea Joint Stock Company in Vietnam.
		1990	Paints sector	Hanoi	Support was extended to M/s Hanoi Paint Company in paints industry which has now grown to be M/s Hanoi Paint and Chemical Joint Stock Company.
		1990	Textile Company	Hanoi	Textile machinery was supplied to M/s 8/3 Textile Company under the credit. It has grown to become a Joint Stock Company focusing on yarns/textile manufacturing in Son La province.
	390	1993	Tea processing	Son La	Machinery required for tea processing was supplied to M/s Son La Tea Company under the credit. The company has become a Joint Stock Company.
		1993	Tea processing	Hanoi	Machinery required for tea processing was supplied to M/s Long Phu Tea Company under the credit which has become M/s Long Phu Tea Joint Stock Company.

		1993	Textile sector	HCMC	Textile machinery was extended to M/s Viet Thang Textile Company under the credit which is now M/s Viet Thang Corporation, one of the leading textiles and garment companies in Vietnam
		1993	Rubber production	HCMC	Support was extended to Vietnamese company in rubber production and the company has become M/s Rubber Industry & Import - Export JSC (RUBICO).
		1993	Supply of transport equipment	Quang Nam	Transport related equipment was supplied to M/s Quang Nam Transportation JSC Quang Nam.
	900	1996	Sugar processing	Can Tho	Machinery for setting up M/s Can Tho Sugar Joint Stock Company (CASUCO) in Can Tho city was supplied.
		1996	Sugar processing	Thanh Hoa	Machinery was supplied M/s Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Company (LASUCO) in Thanh Hoa Province.
		1996	Vietnam Railway	Hanoi	Equipment was supplied to Vietnam Railways, the state-owned operator of the railway system in Vietnam.
		1996	Textile sector	Phu Tho	Textile machinery was supplied to M/s Vinh Phu Textiles Joint Stock Company in Phu Tho province.
		1996	Supply of iron and steel	Thai Nguyen	Items of iron and steel were supplied to M/s Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Company that became a Joint Stock Company in Thai Nguyen Province.
		1996	Heavy industry	Thai Binh	Support was extended in developing M/s Thai Binh Engineering Company Limited which has now been privatized.
		1996	Tea processing	Hanoi	Machinery related to tea processing was supplied to M/s Vietnam Tea Company which is now a Joint Stock Company in Hanoi.
		1996	Rubber processing	Hanoi	Support was extended in developing a rubber company which has now become M/s Danang Rubber Joint Stock Company (DARUCO).
	350	1997	Engineering sector	Hanoi	Support extended to M/s Technical Material Production & Service Company.
		1997	Sugar processing	Thanh Hoa	Machinery was supplied to M/s Nong Cong Sugar Joint Stock Company which has now become a Joint Stock Company (LASUCO).
		1997	Tea processing	Nghe An	Machinery was supplied to M/s Nghe An Tea Company Limited in Nghe An province.
	470	1999	Railway equipment	Hanoi	Rolling stocks were supplied to VIRASIMEX under the Vietnam Railways which is the state-owned operator of the railway system in Vietnam.

	27	2004	Hydro-power sector	Thua Thien Hue	Equipment was supplied for hydro-power generation for Luoi hydro power project implemented by M/s Central Hydropower J.S.C. The company is now listed in the stock market.
		2004	Hydro-power sector	Quang Tri	Supply of equipment for control and protection system for Dakrong Hydropower Project which was implemented by M/s Dakrong Hydropower JSC. M/s Dakrong Hydro-power JSC has become M/s Dakrong Energy expanding to production of solar energy and other infrastructure projects.
		2004	Hydro-power sector	Quang Nam	Electromechanical equipment was supplied and technical services were extended to Tra Linh 3 Hydropower Project implemented by M/s Tra Linh Hydropower in Quang Nam Province.
		2004	Hydro-power sector	Thua Thien Hue	Plant control and supervision system was supplied for Huong Dien Hydropower Project implemented by M/s Huong Dien Hydropower JSC in Thua Thien Hue Province.

		2004	Textile sector	Ho Chi Minh city	Machinery was supplied for establishing spinning mills at M/s Thien Nam Spinning Company Limited. The company has been renamed to M/s Bao Minh Joint Stock Company and has expanded to Ho Chi Minh City and Nam Dinh province.
		2004	Tea processing	Hanoi	Tea processing machinery was supplied to M/s Minh Nguyet Tea Enterprises.
		2004	Hydro-power sector	Son La	Eletro-mechanical equipment was supplied to Suoi Sap Hydro Power project implemented by M/s Truong Thanh Son La Company Limited in Son La Province.
		2004	Textile sector	Phu Tho	Support was extended in spinning process and supply of spinning machine for M/s Vinh Phu Textile Company Limited in Phu Tho province.
		2004	Engineering sector	Ho Chi Minh city	Machines and equipment were supplied to M/s Thien Hung Investment & Development Company in Ho Chi Minh City.
		2004	Tea processing	Hanoi	Tea processing machinery was supplied to M/s Minh Nguyet Tea Enterprises in Hanoi.
		2004	Hydro-power sector	Thua Thien Hue	Hydraulic lifting equipment was supplied and technical services were extended to Binh Dien Hydropower project implemented by M/s Binh Dien Hydropower Development Company JSC in Hue province.
		2004	Heavy industries	Binh Duong	Cold rolling steel machinery was supplied to M/s Lotus Steel Company Limited located in Binh Duong province. It has grown and has become M/s Hoa Sen Group, one of the leading Vietnamese conglomerates in Vietnam.
		2004	Hydro-power sector	Lao Cai	Electromechanical equipment was supplied to Phu Mau Hydro power plant implemented by M/s Tan An Company Limited in Lao Cai province.
		2004	Tea processing	Nghe An	Machinery for tea processing was supplied to M/s Nghe An Tea Company under the credit in Nghe An province.
	45	2008	Hydro-power sector	Son La	Electro-mechanical equipment was supplied to Nam Chien Hydropower Project at Son La Province implemented by M/s Nam Chien Hydropower JSC.
	9.5	2013	Binh Bo drainage Pumping station	Phu Tho	The pumping station helped in conservation of water and irrigation in Phu Ninh District of Phu Tho Province.
	100	2014	Defence cooperation	MOD	Supply of 12 Fast patrol guard boats was made to Vietnam Border Guards of the Ministry of National Defence of Vietnam.
