[09-11 February 2026] World Seafood Congress (WSC) 2026
This is to inform that the internationally acclaimed World Seafood Congress (WSC) will be held from February 9–11, 2026, at the Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, India. WSC is organized by the International Association of Fish Inspectors (IAFI), a UN-recognized international NGO, and this year to be hosted by PDA Ventures Pvt Ltd. The event is co-organized by the Department of Fisheries (Government of India) and supported by major entities including the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), NITI Aayog, UNIDO, and FAO. Held biennially, the Congress brings together global seafood industry leaders to address key issues surrounding safe, sustainable, and equitable international trade in fishery and aquaculture products.
The Congress focuses on providing insights into new industry standards and the latest technological advancements, and this year's theme is “Sustainable Solutions for Inclusive Growth – Building a safer, fair and resilient global seafood trade.”
WSC 2026 will feature:
- Conference: Three days of focused debates and discussions on critical issues impacting the seafood supply chain.
- Trade Fair: A platform to showcase innovations in seafood production, logistics, safety, and certification.
- Workshops & Presentations: In-depth sessions addressing international supply chain challenges and the latest technical research.
- Awards & Visits: The Peter Howgate Awards for young fish technologists and technical visits to Indian seafood industry operations.
- Participation: Policymakers and fish traders from major seafood-importing countries (including the USA, UK, Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia, and China) are expected to attend, alongside experts from organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), US FDA, and the European Union.
