Mr. Tshering W. Sherpa

Mr. Tshering W. Sherpa joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 2002. Prior to joining the IFS, he worked as an Assistant Commissioner of Police in New Delhi.
2. His overseas postings include assignments in the Embassy of India in the Republic of Korea, Nepal, and Japan. His last overseas assignment was as Deputy Chief of Mission in Israel.
3. In the Ministry of External Affairs, he has served in the Northern Division as Under Secretary/ Deputy Secretary (Nepal) and also as Deputy Secretary (North). He also had a stint in the United Nations - Political Division as Deputy Secretary/ Director (UN-Political). As Joint Secretary, he was seconded to the National Security Council Secretariat from the Ministry of External Affairs. His last assignment was Joint Secretary (United Nations – Political) in the Ministry of External Affairs.
4. Mr. Sherpa is fluent in English, Hindi, and Nepalese and can also speak Korean.
5. His wife is also a diplomat and they have a daughter.
