India@75: National Unity Week Celebrations

Back | Print

A week-long commemoration of the #RashtriyaEktaDiwas — the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31 October 2021 — culminated with Ambassador administering the National Unity Pledge to all officials of the Embassy. The week-long celebrations comprised special events organized by the Embassy to celebrate the life and vision of Sardar Patel.

These included a special webinar on the “Vision and Contributions of Sardar Patel for India’s National Unity and Nation-building” held on 30 October with the participation of scholars from India and Vietnam. Earlier, the Embassy hosted a special #VandeBharatQuiz on 25 October that focused on the contributions of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel in India’s freedom struggle; and a webinar on 27 October on the “influence of India’s freedom struggle on anti-colonial movements in Asia and Africa”.

The commemoration of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas this year added a special dimension to our celebration of “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, the 75 years of India’s independence and the glorious history of her people, culture and achievements.
