India@75: Webinar on “Philosophy in Vedas and Upanishads”

Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre,Embassy of India Hanoi in cooperation with Institute for Religious Studies (IRS) of Vietnam organized the Webinar on “Philosophy in Vedas and Upanishads” on 07th July 2021. This programme is the first webinar of the Indian Philosophy Series, and is also a part of the India@75 programme towards the Independence Day of India.

The programme began with presentation by Prof. Dr. Shrinivasa Varakhedi - Vice Chancellor of Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Maharashtra and acting Vice-chancellor of Gondwana University, Gadchiroli on “Philosophy in the Vedas and Upanishads”. He talked about the structure and importance of Vedas and overview about Indic philosophies. It was followed by presentation on “Vedic studies: Indic approach and Eurocentric studies” by Dr. G.B. Harisha, Author & Director of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Hanoi. He explained the topic through example of Sri Aurobindo for lndic approach and Max Muller for Euro-centric approach to Vedas. The webinar was concluded with the discussion session between speakers and audiences.
