India@75: Webinar on Indian Temple Architecture and Cham Temples

Embassy of India and Swami Vivekananda Culture Centre (SVCC) in Hanoi hosted a Webinar on “Indian Temple Architecture and Cham Temples” on 25th February 2022. The webinar was part of a series of events commemorating the #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav as well as the 50th Anniversary of India-Vietnam diplomatic relations. In his opening remarks, Ambassador Pranay Verma highlighted temple architecture as a manifestation of centuries-old cultural and civilizational links between India and Vietnam. Guest speaker Dr. Le Dinh Phung, Former Head of Historical Archaeology Research Department, Institute of Archaeology, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, gave a detailed presentation on cultural inspiration drawn from India in the architecture of Cham temples. During the event, a short film on "Restoration and Conservation of the Cham Temples in Vietnam by India" was also released.

Đại sứ quán Ấn Độ và Trung tâm Văn hóa Swami Vivekananda (SVCC) tại Hà Nội đã tổ chức Hội thảo trực tuyến về “Kiến trúc đền thờ Ấn Độ và các đền tháp Chăm” vào ngày 25 tháng 2 năm 2022. Hội thảo nằm trong chuỗi sự kiện kỷ niệm 75 năm Ngày Độc lập Ấn Độ (Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav) cũng như Kỷ niệm 50 năm Quan hệ Ngoại giao Ấn Độ - Việt Nam. Trong bài phát biểu khai mạc, Đại sứ Pranay Verma nhấn mạnh kiến trúc đền thờ là biểu hiện của mối liên kết văn hóa và văn minh hàng thế kỷ giữa Ấn Độ và Việt Nam. Khách mời Tiến sĩ Lê Đình Phụng, Nguyên Trưởng phòng Nghiên cứu Khảo cổ học Lịch sử, Viện Khảo cổ học, Viện Khoa học Xã hội Việt Nam, trình bày chi tiết về cảm hứng văn hóa Ấn Độ trong kiến trúc đền tháp Chăm. Trong sự kiện này, một đoạn phim ngắn về "Phục hồi và bảo tồn các đền tháp Chăm ở Việt Nam của Ấn Độ" cũng được công chiếu.
