India@75: Webinar on “Regional Poets and India’s freedom struggle” on 16th November 2021

Embassy of India and Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Hanoi organized a Webinar on “Regional Poets and India’s freedom struggle” on 16th November 2021. This programme is part of a series of events commemorating the historic milestone, the 75th Anniversary of India’s independence as Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

In his opening remarks, Shri. Subhash Prasad Gupta, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India to Vietnam, highlighted how writers and poets discovered their unity in the process of their struggle with colonialism. Many poets instilled patriotism and amplified the freedom struggle through their words.

The Webinar continued with the presentation on “Aspiration for freedom in Hồ Chí Minh’s Prison Diary” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Mai Lien, Head of Foreign Literature Studies Department, Hanoi National University of Education, Vietnam. It was then entailed by a presentation of Dr. Om Prakash, Head Department of Indian Languages and Literature, Gautam Buddha University, India, where he explained the Indian oral tradition in the literary works during the freedom struggle.

Ngày 16/11/2021, Đại sứ quán Ấn Độ và Trung tâm Văn hoá Swami Vivekananda, Hà Nội tổ chức Buổi Tọa đàm trực tuyến về “Các thi sĩ trong khu vực và cuộc đấu tranh giành tự do của Ấn Độ”. Chương trình là một phần của chuỗi sự kiện kỷ niệm 75 năm Ngày Độc lập của nước Cộng hòa Ấn Độ (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav).

Trong bài phát biểu khai mạc của mình, Ngài Subhash Prasad Gupta, Phó Đại sứ, Đại sứ quán Ấn Độ tại Việt Nam, nhấn mạnh việc các nhà văn, nhà thơ đã khám phá ra sự thống nhất trong quá trình đấu tranh chống lại chủ nghĩa thực dân. Nhiều thi sĩ đã thấm nhuần lòng yêu nước và nêu cao lý tưởng của cuộc đấu tranh vì tự do thông qua ngôn từ của họ.

Tọa đàm được tiếp nối với phần trình bày về chủ đề “Khát vọng tự do trong Nhật kí trong tù của Hồ Chí Minh” của PGS.TS. Nguyễn Thị Mai Liên, Trưởng Bộ môn Văn học nước ngoài, Đại học Sư phạm Hà Nội. Tiếp đó, Tiến sỹ Om Prakash, Trưởng khoa Ngôn ngữ và Văn học Ấn Độ, Đại học Gautam Buddha, Ấn Độ, đã chia sẻ về hình thức văn học truyền miệng của Ấn Độ trong thời kỳ đấu tranh giành tự do.
