As part of events to promote tourism from Vietnam to India, the Embassy of India, in collaboration with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the Indian Ministry of Tourism and India Tourism Office in Singapore, hosted a webinar on “Buddhist Circuits in India” on 8 November 2021. The event witnessed participation of a large number of tourism and travel companies, media outlets and tourism experts from India and Vietnam.
In his keynote address, Ambassador Pranay Verma highlighted recent steps taken by India to welcome foreign tourists, including opening of all tourism to India from 15 November and the launch of “SU-SWAGATAM” Indian visa app as a single window facilitation for foreign tourists. Ambassador noted the salience of Buddhist heritage in India for Vietnamese tourists. He also underlined the new facilities to promote international travel to these destinations, notably the inauguration of the Kushinagar International Airport by Prime Minister of India in October 2021.
The event was also addressed by the Vice Chairman of VNAT, Mr. Ha Van Sieu, who welcomed the Embassy’s initiative and urged travel operators to disseminate more information on Buddhist circuit packages suitable for Vietnamese tourists.
Presentations were made by senior officials of India’s Ministry of Tourism, India Tourism Office in Singapore, Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, International Buddhist Confederation as well as representatives from the travel industry. The webinar concluded with an interactive Q&A session. Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, Dr. Madan Mohan Sethi presented the Vote of Thanks to the participants.

Nằm trong khuôn khổ sự kiện quảng bá du lịch Việt Nam - Ấn Độ, Đại sứ quán Ấn Độ phối hợp với Tổng cục Du lịch Việt Nam (VNAT), Bộ Du lịch Ấn Độ và Văn phòng Du lịch Ấn Độ tại Singapore tổ chức hội thảo trực tuyến về Chủ đề Du lịch “Vòng quanh Thánh tích Phật giáo” tại Ấn Độ vào ngày 8 tháng 11 năm 2021. Sự kiện có sự tham gia của đông đảo các công ty du lịch và lữ hành, các hãng truyền thông và các chuyên gia du lịch đến từ Ấn Độ và Việt Nam.
Trong bài phát biểu của mình, Đại sứ Pranay Verma nhấn mạnh các hoạt động gần đây mà Ấn Độ đã thực hiện để chào đón khách du lịch nước ngoài, bao gồm việc mở cửa tất cả các hoạt động du lịch đến Ấn Độ từ ngày 15 tháng 11 và ra mắt ứng dụng thị thực Ấn Độ “SU-SWAGATAM” như một cơ chế tạo điều kiện thuận lợi cho khách du lịch nước ngoài. Đại sứ ghi nhận sự quan tâm của các di sản Phật giáo ở Ấn Độ đối với du khách Việt Nam. Ngài cũng nhấn mạnh các cơ sở mới để thúc đẩy du lịch quốc tế đến những điểm đến này, đặc biệt là việc Thủ tướng Ấn Độ khánh thành Sân bay Quốc tế Kushinagar vào tháng 10/2021.
Phó Tổng cục trưởng Tổng cục Du lịch Việt Nam, ông Hà Văn Siêu cũng phát biểu tại sự kiện này, ông hoan nghênh sáng kiến của Đại sứ quán và kêu gọi các công ty lữ hành phổ biến thêm thông tin về các gói du lịch Phật giáo phù hợp với du khách Việt Nam.
Sự kiện có diễn giả là các quan chức cấp cao của Bộ Du lịch Ấn Độ, Văn phòng Du lịch Ấn Độ tại Singapore, Giáo hội Phật giáo Việt Nam, Liên đoàn Phật giáo Quốc tế cũng như các đại diện từ ngành du lịch. Hội thảo trực tuyến kết thúc bằng một phiên tương tác hỏi đáp. Tổng Lãnh sự Ấn Độ tại Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, Tiến sĩ Madan Mohan Sethi đã phát biểu cảm ơn các đại biểu tham gia chương trình.
