The 3rd Meeting of India-Vietnam Joint Working Group on Information Technology

The 3rd India-Vietnam Joint Working Group (JWG) on Information Technology was held virtually on 27th July 2021 co-chaired by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) of India and the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) of Vietnam. The Indian side was led by Shri Bhuvnesh Kumar, Joint Secretary (IC), MeitY and the Vietnamese side was led by Mr. Trieu Minh Long, Director General (IC), MIC.

Both sides exchanged experiences and best practices with specific focus on respective national digital strategies, IT industry cooperation, innovation, start-up development and cyber security. Discussions were held to explore participation in each other’s IT parks and pursue cooperation between Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) and the National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) on private sector collaboration in IT sector. Both sides agreed to hold seminars on digital strategies and digital platforms and to cooperate in training and skill development in IT sector.
They also agreed to establish information-sharing mechanisms in cyber security through designated nodal points between Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) and Vietnam Cyber Emergency Response Center (VNCERT).
 
The India-Vietnam JWG on Information Technology was established pursuant to the signing of the MoU on Cooperation in Information Technology between India and Vietnam in 2016.
