India@75: Webinar on Gurudev Tagore

To mark the #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav and the 80th death anniversary of India's poet laureate Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Embassy of India and Swami Vivekananda Culture Centre organized a webinar on “Gurudev Tagore and Indian Nationalism” on 09 August 2021. In his opening remarks, Ambassador Pranay Verma highlighted the contributions of Gurudev Tagore to India's national movement and cultural awakening. He also recalled Gurudev Tagore's visit to Vietnam in June 1929 which was a landmark event in contemporary relations between India and Vietnam and demonstrated their mutual solidarity during their freedom struggles.

Two well-known experts on Gurudev Tagore's life and works, Assistant Professor Dr. Ajeet Kumar from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi and Associate Professor Dr. Pham Xuan Thach, Dean of the Faculty of Literature, University of Social Sciences & Humanities, Hanoi were the invited speakers.

The webinar is part of a series of events commemorating the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence as #AzadikaAmritMahotsav.
