As part of our series of events to commemorate India-Vietnam Buddhist Linkages and to celebrate #IndiaAt75, our Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre invited on-line two eminent experts in Buddhism from Vietnam — Most Venerable Thích Thọ Lạc, Head of Cultural Committee, Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Dr. Phan Anh Tú, Director of Center for Theoretical and Applied Culturology, University of Social Sciences & Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City. In his opening remarks, Ambassador Pranay Verma highlighted the importance of Buddhist linkages in India-Vietnam civilizational and cultural contacts and its relevance in the contemporary times. The Vietnamese scholars, in their presentation, traced the Buddhist influences from India which became part of local cultural and social fabric.

Nằm trong chuỗi sự kiện kỷ niệm Mối liên kết Phật giáo Ấn Độ - Việt Nam và kỷ niệm 75 năm Quốc khánh Ấn Độ, Trung tâm Văn hóa Swami Vivekananda đã mời trực tiếp hai chuyên gia về Phật giáo đến từ Việt Nam - Hòa thượng Thích Thọ Lạc, Trưởng Ban Văn hóa, Giáo hội Phật giáo Việt Nam và Tiến sĩ Phan Anh Tú, Giám đốc Trung tâm Văn hóa Lý luận và Ứng dụng, Trường Đại học Khoa học Xã hội & Nhân văn TP. HCM. Trong bài phát biểu khai mạc, Đại sứ Pranay Verma nhấn mạnh tầm quan trọng của mối liên kết Phật giáo trong các mối liên hệ văn minh và văn hóa Ấn Độ - Việt Nam và sự phù hợp của nó trong thời hiện đại. Trong bài thuyết trình của mình, các học giả Việt Nam đã truy tìm những ảnh hưởng của Phật giáo từ Ấn Độ, vốn đã trở thành một phần của cấu trúc văn hóa và xã hội địa phương.
