India@75: Presentation on India’s Economic Development Plan for 2021-22

As part of the series of activities to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, the Embassy of India organised an interactive session on India’s Annual Budget (Blueprint for Socio-economic Development) for 2021-22 at the Embassy premises on 8 April 2021 to present the socio-economic development priorities of India for the next one year and the opportunities they would create for economic partnership with Vietnam.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Pranay Verma highlighted the many transformative steps taken by the Government of India in the annual economic plan to bring the socio-economic development of India on a rapid growth trajectory after the impact of #COVID19. He highlighted that India’s aspiration to become a US$5 trillion economy over the next five years and Vietnam’s ambitions to become a developed economy by 2045 will create many synergies for cooperation between them in areas such as digital economy, sustainable development, innovation etc. and for linkages between start-up and Small and Medium enterprises of the two countries. During the interactive session, participants also discussed potential opportunities for cooperation between enterprises of India and Vietnam in specific areas like new technologies, pharmaceuticals, environmental solutions, green technologies and healthcare sector, including medical tourism. Ambassador underlined India’s desire to partner with Vietnam by offering Openness, Options and Opportunities to Vietnam’s enterprises
