Indian Coast Guard Ship VIJIT was on a four day goodwill visit to Vietnam from 1-4 April, 2019 and docked at Tien Sa Port of Danang with a crew of 95 officers and sailors. The visit to Vietnam strengthened maritime cooperation between the two countries' Coast Guards and contributed positively to security and stability in the region. A reception was held on board by the Ship Captain Mr. T. Ashish and Ambassador P. Harish which was attended by Major General Bui Trung Dung, Vice Commander Vietnam Coast Guard, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Vice Chairman of Danang People's Committee, members of Vietnam India Friendship Association of Danang and other dignitaries and friends of India. The officers and crewmen of the ship also paid courtesy visits to the Military Region 5 Command and Da Nang People’s Committee and took part in a joint search and rescue drill at sea with the Vietnamese Coast Guard.
