2019 would be celebrated as ASEAN-India Year of Tourism in accordance with the decision taken by the leaders at the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit held in New Delhi in January 2018. Embassy of India, Hanoi organised Vietnam-India Tourism Roadshow on 14th January 2019 in Melia Hotel, Hanoi with a specific focus on "Bihar and Buddhism", in order to promote bilateral cooperation in tourism sector between India and Vietnam. The Roadshow was attended by Mr. Nguyen Quy Phuong, Director General, Travel Industry Management Department, Vietnam National Tourism Administration, Most Ven. Thic Duc Thien, Secretary General of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Mr. Pham Hai Quynh, President of the Community Tourism Club, Tourism Association of Vietnam, Mr. P hung Quang Thang, Vice Chairman, Vietnam Tour Operators Association, Official from various Vietnam Tour Operators, Indian delegation from Ministry of Tourism and tour operators from India. Ambassador P. Harish and other dignitaries addressed the gathering. Besides promoting tourist places in Bihar, the local tour operators were also encouraged to visit several other tourist places in India. The other important part of the Roadshow was B2B and Networking Meeting between Vietnamese and Indian representatives. The Tourism Roadshow was well appreciated by the Vietnam Tour Operators and other dignitaries.
