INS Rana of the Indian Navy with 400 officers and crew members on board under the command of Captain Atul Deswal was on a goodwill visit to Ho Chi Minh City from 27-30 September, 2018. There was extensive interaction with Vietnam People’s Navy, particularly in the field of training, repairs, maintenance and logistics support aimed at capacity building. Ambassador P. Harish and Mrs. Nandita Parvathaneni attended the reception on board INS Rana which was followed by cultural performances by the Navy band. This visit will enhance maritime cooperation between the two Navies and will further bolster the strong bonds of friendship between the two countries and contribute to security and stability in the region and the world at large.
