[07-09 October 2026] 3rd edition of Sagarmanthan: The Great Ocean Dialogue

This is to inform that the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW), Government of India, in partnership with the Observer Research Foundation, is organising the 3rd edition of Sagarmanthan: The Great Ocean Dialogue, scheduled to be held from 07-09 October 2026 in New Delhi, India.

As an annual global platform, Sagarmanthan drives critical dialogue on maritime trade, connectivity, the green transition, and the broader ocean economy. Anchored in the spirit of “World is One Family”, the Dialogue will convene senior political leadersm industry delegates, scholars and multilateral organisations to exchange idealsm share thought leadership, and foster global partnerships for a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable maritime future for all. 

Sagarmanthan: The Great Oceans Dialogue 2026 will centre around the following five thematic pillars:

1. Steady Straits: Safeguarding Flows in a Fractured World
2. Blue Breakthroughs: Greening Ships and Shipbuilding
3. Complex Seas: Managing Trade, Connectivity, and Turbulence
4. Ocean Societies: Communities, Cultures, and Livelihoods
5. The Heart of the Deal: Linking Harbour Cities to the Hinterland

Over the course of two-and-a-half days, Sagarmanthan 2026 will bring together global leaders and stakeholders from government, industry, academia, finance, multilateral organisations, technology, logistics, ports, shipping, ocean governance, sustainability, and maritime innovation communities. The Dialogue will feature a diverse mix of high-level plenaries, ministerial conversations, strategic invite-only roundtables, technical sessions, studio discussions, and scene-setting keynote interventions designed to facilitate and foster substantive exchange across sectors and regions.
