The Embassy was honoured with the presence of H. E. Mr. Le Hoai Trung, Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam as the Chief Guest of our 80th Independence Day reception on 18 August 2026.

 We also thank H. E. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Minister of Science and Technology of Vietnam and Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Truong Thang, Deputy Minister of National Defence of Vietnam for gracing the event with their kind presence.

 In his remarks at the reception, H. E. Foreign Minister fittingly mentioned that the respective national goals of India and Vietnam "represent an important point of convergence between our two countries and creates enormous space for Vietnam and India to accompany, complement and support one another." He also added that the bilateral Enhanced Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (ECSP), elevating the relationship in May 2026, "will continue to go from strength to strength, bringing benefits to our two peoples and contributing to peace, cooperation, stability and prosperity in our region and beyond."

 Ambassador Tshering W. Sherpa, for his part, reaffirmed India's commitment "to translate the shared values and mutual trust [between our two countries] into tangible outcomes."

 We once again thank our Vietnamese friends for sharing these moments of national joy with us.
