Tourism familiarisation visit to Mesmerizing Meghalaya
Embassy of India in coordination with Tourism Department of the Indian state of Meghalaya organized a tourism familiarization trip to Meghalaya for a group of 17 Vietnamese Tour operators and 03 media persons from 18-23 March 2025.
During the visit, Vietnamese delegation visited Umiam Lake, Mattilang Park – Overview of Elephant Falls, Mawphlang Sacred Forest (Eco-tourism and Khasi heritage), Laitlum Grand Canyons, Sohra Waterfalls, Arwah Cave, Nongsawlia Presbyterian Church, Mawsmai Caves, Seven Sister Falls, Nohkalikai Falls (India’s tallest plunge waterfall for sunset view, K Bri Ki Synrang (Garden of Caves), Umkar Living Root Bridge at Siej Village, Dainthlen Falls and Lyngkshair Falls, Famous Whistling Village-Kongthong & Rangkylliaw Bridge. The visitors appreciated the scenic beauty, architecture, arts, local cuisine and cultural activities in Meghalaya.
The tour operators expressed their delight on the trip to mesmerizing Meghalaya and agreed with sound oppurtunities for tourism in Meghalaya. Meghalaya state tourism supported the trip by extending local hospitality for the visitors in the state. A list of the tour operators and media influencers who participated in the Familiarization trip is attached.
