Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMPK) delegation, led by Mr. Rathendra Raman, Chairman, visited Viet Nam from 9-13 March 2026. The SMPK delegation also included a representative from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways.

In Hanoi, the delegation had productive discussions with Viet Nam Logistics Business Association (VLA), Viet Nam Maritime and Waterway Administration (VIMAWA) and Viet Nam Maritime Corporation (VIMC).

The delegation also visited Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang City where they engaged with the leadership followed by site visits of Saigon Port, SP-PSA International Port, Cai Mep International Terminal (CMIP) and Da Nang Port for better understanding and an overview of terminal operations, logistics connectivity and regional transshipment potential of these ports. 

The visit began with a briefing by the Ambassador in Hanoi on 9 March and concluded with a debriefing by the Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City on 13 March 2026.

The Embassy appreciates the support extended by all the Vietnamese stakeholders for the visit of the delegation from Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata.
