India@75: Webinar to Promote Cooperation between Manipur and Quang Tri

As part of events to mark #AzadiKaAmritMahotsav and promote linkages between India’s Northeastern States with Southeast Asia under the #ActEastPolicy, the Embassy organised a webinar on 3 December 2021 to explore cooperation opportunities between India’s Manipur State and Vietnam’s Quang Tri Province. Both these provinces are at important locations to foster regional connectivity and offer complementary opportunities for cooperation in areas such as agriculture, forestry, agro-processing, fishing, aquaculture, and tourism and culture.
In his remarks during the event, Ambassador Pranay Verma highlighted the key role of Manipur and other Northeastern States in realizing India’s Act East Policy and underlined the salience of provincial-level cooperation in promoting India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Vice chairman of People’s Committee of Quang Tri Province, Mr. Hoang Nam led the discussions with officials from the State Government of Manipur to explore possible areas of trade, investment and economic cooperation.

Là một phần trong nỗ lực thúc đẩy mối liên kết giữa các bang phía Đông Bắc của Ấn Độ với Đông Nam Á theo Chính sách Hành động Hướng Đông, Đại sứ quán đã tổ chức hội thảo trực tuyến vào ngày 3 tháng 12 năm 2021 để tìm hiểu các cơ hội hợp tác giữa Bang Manipur của Ấn Độ và tỉnh Quảng Trị của Việt Nam. Cả hai địa phương này đều có vị trí quan trọng trong thúc đẩy kết nối khu vực và tạo cơ hội bổ sung cho hợp tác trong các lĩnh vực như nông nghiệp, lâm nghiệp, chế biến nông sản, đánh bắt, nuôi trồng thủy sản và du lịch.
Trong bài phát biểu của mình, Đại sứ Pranay Verma nhấn mạnh vai trò quan trọng của Manipur và các bang phía Đông Bắc khác trong việc hiện thực hóa Chính sách Hành động Hướng Đông của Ấn Độ và nhấn mạnh khả năng hợp tác cấp tỉnh trong việc thúc đẩy Quan hệ Đối tác Chiến lược Toàn diện Ấn Độ-Việt Nam. Phó chủ tịch Ủy ban nhân dân tỉnh Quảng Trị, ông Hoàng Nam đã dẫn đầu các cuộc thảo luận với các quan chức từ Chính quyền bang Manipur để tìm hiểu các lĩnh vực khả thi về thương mại, đầu tư và hợp tác kinh tế.
