India@75: Webinar on India's Freedom Struggle

As part of series of events to celebrate the #AmritMahotsav, Embassy of India and Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre organized a webinar on “The influence of India’s freedom struggle on anti-colonial movements in Asia and Africa” on 27 October 2021. The webinar witnessed presentations by Prof. Keshav Mishra, Head of Department of History, Banaras Hindu University of India and Mr. Vu The Cuong from Center for Indian Studies at Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in Vietnam.
Ambassador Pranay Verma, in his opening remarks, described the webinar as a celebration of two important anniversaries being marked this month – the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on 2nd October and the 146th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31st October, which is also celebrated as the National Unity Day.

Nằm trong chuỗi sự kiện kỷ niệm 75 năm Ngày Độc lập Ấn Độ, Đại sứ quán Ấn Độ và Trung tâm Văn hóa Swami Vivekananda đã tổ chức hội thảo trực tuyến về “Ảnh hưởng của phong trào độc lập của Ấn Độ đối với các phong trào chống thực dân ở châu Á và châu Phi” vào ngày 27 tháng 10 năm 2021. Hội thảo trực tuyến chứng kiến các bài thuyết trình do GS Keshav Mishra, Trưởng khoa Lịch sử, Đại học Banaras Hindu của Ấn Độ và ông Vũ Thế Cường từ Trung tâm Nghiên cứu Ấn Độ thuộc Học viện Chính trị Quốc gia Hồ Chí Minh tại Việt Nam.
Trong bài phát biểu khai mạc, Đại sứ Pranay Verma đã mô tả hội thảo này thuộc một trong hai ngày kỷ niệm quan trọng được đánh dấu trong tháng này - lễ kỷ niệm lần thứ 152 ngày sinh của Mahatma Gandhi vào ngày 2 tháng 10 và lễ kỷ niệm lần thứ 146 của nhà lãnh đạo Vallabhbhai Patel vào ngày 31 tháng 10, cũng là kỷ niệm ngày Đại đoàn kết toàn dân tộc.
