Use of Thuraya/Irridium Satellite phones is banned in India. Unauthorised use of such phones will lead of confiscation of the same and will attract prosecution as per relevant laws governing use of satellite phones in India. Visitors are advised not to carry/use satellite phones during their visit to India.
Ấn Độ cấm sử dụng điện thoại vệ tinh Thuraya/Irridium. Người sử dụng trái phép loại điện thoại này sẽ bị tịch thu điện thoại và khởi tố theo luật pháp liên quan đến việc sử dụng điện thoại vệ tinh tại Ấn Độ. Vì vậy, du khách khi đến thăm Ấn Độ không nên mang theo hay sử dụng điện thoại vệ tinh.

Harish welcomed the Hon'ble Minister and addressed the gathering. The Hon'ble Minister also interacted with the defence industry delegation from India which was organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI)

  • Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon'ble Defence Minister of India arrived at Hanoi on 12 June 2018 on her visit to Vietnam from 12-15 June 2018. She was received at the airport on 12 Jun3 by Ambassador Harish Parvathaneni and other members of the Indian Embassy. Ambassador and Mrs. Nandita Parvathaneni hosted a dinner at India House on 12 June 2018 for the Hon'ble Minister and her official delegation.

  • A delegation organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) from the Defence Industry of India is visiting Vietnam from 11-14 June 2018 coinciding with the visit of Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon'ble Defence Minister of India to Vietnam. Ambassador P. Harish held an interaction with the members of the delegation at Hotel Melia on 12 June 2018

  • Vesak 2018 "Buddha's Birthday" was celebrated in the Embassy on 29 May 2018 with the participation of senior leadership of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha. Ambassador P. Harish, Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, Chairman of the Excutive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and Most Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Padma Shri awardee and Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, leaders of the Vietnam India Friendship Association and members of the Indian Community attended the function which included planting of the Bodhi Tree from Bodh Gaya, India.

  • Three Indian Naval Ships, the INS Sahyadri, INS Shakti and INS Kamorta, were on a goodwill visit to Vietnam during 21-25 May 2018. They arrived at the Tien Sa Port, Danang on 21 May 2018. Ambassador P. Harish and Mrs. P. Nandita visited the Indian Naval Ships and met the officers and sailors on board. Ambassador Harish later spoke at a Reception held on board INS Shakti along with Rear Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi. Mr. Tran Van Mien, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Danang, Rear Admiral Do Quoc Viet, Commander of Naval Region 3, officials of the Vietnam People’s Navy, Vietnam Border Guard, the diplomatic corps, government officials of Vietnam etc. and around 150 guests attended the Reception. 

  • On 15 May 2018, the Assam delegation visited Hung Yen province and met with Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Chairman of People’s Committee of Hung Yen province and were introduced to the agricultural sector and model of agricultural extension in the province. The delegation also visiting the farming and processing zones, turmeric growing areas, and horticulture farming models in Khoai Chau district.
