Use of Thuraya/Irridium Satellite phones is banned in India. Unauthorised use of such phones will lead of confiscation of the same and will attract prosecution as per relevant laws governing use of satellite phones in India. Visitors are advised not to carry/use satellite phones during their visit to India.

  • The inauguration ceremony of Jaipur Foot Artificial Limb Fitment Camp was held on 10th July 2018 at Vinh Phuc Convention Centre in Vinh Yen in close partnership between Embassy of India, Hanoi, People's Committee of Vinh Phuc Province, Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti, Jaipur and Spark Minda Foundation. Ambassador P. Harish and Mrs. P. Nandita welcomed Her Excellency Nguyen Thi Hien, the First Lady of Vietnam, who inaugurated the Jaipur Foot Artificial Limb Fitment Camp. 

  • As part of his State Attachment visit, Ambassador P. Harish met with H.E. Mr. E.S.L. Narasimhan, Hon'ble Governor of Andhra Pradesh on 26 June 2018 at Raj Bhavan, Hyderabad. He was accompanied by Mr. D.B. Venkatesh Varma, Ambassador of India to Spain and Mr. Jeeva Sagar, Ambassador of India to Kuwait.

  • Vietnam is a comprehensive strategic partner of India in the ASEAN region and has a lot of similarities with North East India such as similar agro-climatic environment, culture, music etc. India's North East is the gateway to ASEAN and its music is popular in Vietnam. Rattle and Hum Band from Nagaland state led by Mr. Theja Meru performed during the 4th International Day of Yoga celebrations on 16th June 2018. This band had earlier performed in Vietnam, and internationally too, including in Russia and China. The band performed in front of more than 1000 yoga participants at the Hanoi Indoor Games Gymnasium and everyone appreciated their music.

  • The Embassy of India, Hanoi organised the 4th International Day of Yoga celebrations in Hanoi on 16 June 2018 at the Cung Dien Kinh Hanoi (Hanoi Indoor Games Gymnasium) in partnership with the People's Committee of Hanoi, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnam India Friendship Association. Playing of national anthems of Vietnam and India were followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp, broadcasting of the messages of Mr. Narendra Modi, Honourable Prime Minister of India, Mrs.Sushma Swaraj, Honourable External Affairs Minister and Mr. Shripad Naik, Honourable Minister for AYUSH and a welcome address by Ambassador of India Mr. P. Harish and a speech by Mr. Kamal Malhotra, UN Resident Coordinator. Dignitaries attending the event included Most Venerable Thich Duc Thien, Padma Shri Awardee and Vice Chairman of the Vietnam-India Friendship Association, Ambassadors and members from the diplomatic corps and senior representatives of the Hanoi People's Committees and Ministries of the Vietnamese Government. Around 1000 yoga enthusiasts from different walks of life and of all ages performed the yoga protocol led by Mr. Akhil Arya, Yoga Teacher at the Swami Vivekanand Cultural Centre, Hanoi and Vietnamese students of yoga class at the Indian Cultural Centre. Leading Vietnamese insurance firm, BaoViet Life, was the main sponsor of the event and Tata Motors was a co-sponsor.

Harish and the official delegation, visited the Bien Hoa Air Force Station in Ho Chi Minh City on 15 June 2018 and interacted with the Vietnam People's Air Force personnel

  • On her visit to Vietnam from 12-15 June 2018, H. E. Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon'ble Defence Minister of India, accompanied by Ambassador P. Harish and the official delegation, visited the Cu Chi tunnels near Ho Chi Minh City on 15 June 2018

  • During her visit to Vietnam from 12-15 June 2018, H.E. Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon'ble Defence Minister of India, accomapnied by Ambassador P. Harish and the official delegation from the Ministry of Defence of India, visited the Cam Ranh Naval Base and interacted with the Base Commander. She was welcomed on board the Quang Trung Frigate of Vietnam People's Navy. During the visit to the Naval Base, the Hon'ble Minister also participated in the Gifting Ceremony of Glide Path Indicator by India to the Vietnam People's Navy.

Mr. Ngo Xuan Lich, Minister of National Defence of Vietnam on 13 June 2018 at Hotel Sheraton Hanoi

  • H.E. Mrs. Nirmala Sitharaman, Hon'ble Defence Minister of India, on her visit to Vietnam from 12-15 June 2018, called on H.E. Mr. Tran Dai Quang, President of Vietnam at the Presidential Palace in Hanoi on 13 June 2018.
